If the meal comes with regular sides as standard, then they can only be swapped with another regular size side. Same thing applies with large also. When a regular item is upgraded to large, it cannot be swapped because that size is not what comes as standard with that meal. I dont think ive ever had to put 2 large chips and no drink in a reg ultimate meal or a reg combo for example, but to do so, I would upgrade the existing chips to large, swap reg drink for reg chips than upgrade those chips to large. Whether the register will let me do that im not sure of. What I do know is in those meals, you cant upsize coleslaw and potato gravy. DDots writes.
